Every person who joins the Foundation’s board loves the hospital and is deeply committed to making it a better place. They are also very generous of their time and money. The rest of the Foundation board members are as follows:
George Medak, President
Rob Roy, Past President
Charlie Harrison, MCH CEO
Kim McGuire, Secretary
Yvonne Waggener, Treasurer
Kieth Burkart, O.D.
Cecilia Ponce de Leon
Lawrence Walker, M.D.
Since 1991, the MCH Foundation has raised millions of dollars to help the hospital meet the demands of an ever-changing healthcare environment. Today, donations are more important than ever. Patient volume is at its highest level and expenses have gone up over 50% in just the past 10 years. The problem is simple, the majority of MCH patients depend on Medicare and Medi-Cal and these insurers do not reimburse the hospital for all of its costs. MCH relies on the generosity of donors to help make improvements that would not be possible with patient revenue alone.
Here are some of the improvements the hospital has planned:
Create a Central Registration and waiting area
Relocate and improve the Pharmacy
Build a new Medical/Surgical wing
Expand the Skilled Nursing Facility
Build a new Education Center
Create more parking
Modernize the Operating Room
For more information about these projects, please contact Kim McGuire at (909) 436-3263 or visit www.mchcares.com. If you are interested in joining a group of smart and passionate people who make a difference in the community’s healthcare, please contact Foundation Board President George Medak at firstname.lastname@example.org.
