EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Must be at least 17 years of age and a senior in high school; high school grad preferred

• No prior experience or training needed

• Individual who plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant preferred

• 100 hours of volunteer experience in a physical therapy setting preferred

REQUIREMENTS
The Physical Therapy Aide is specifically trained under the direction of a Physical Therapist to perform routine tasks in the provision of physical therapy services. the physical therapy aide will perform non-patients related tasks such as observation of the patient, transport of the patient, physical support during gait or transfer activities, housekeeping and clerical duties. The physical therapy aide can perform patient related tasks only under the orders, direction and immediate continuous supervision of the Physical Therapist in all service areas of the PT department including outpatient, skilled nursing, and Medical Surgical unit at MCH.
