Why We’re Stayin’ Alive This Year:
It’s simple – it’s because of YOU! The money raised at this event goes toward lifesaving equipment and essential hospital improvements, making a real difference for patients and their families. Last year, we opened our new front entrance and patient registration areas. We dramatically improved patient safety by purchasing four new defibrillators and a hands-free voice and messaging system to improve staff communication. This year’s proceeds will continue to fund lifesaving equipment and critical hospital improvements, directly benefiting patients and staff.
Once again, this year’s emcee is Lake Arrowhead’s own Robbin Nordsten. Both a live performer and studio singer, Robbin has been active in the music industry for 40 years. With an impressive resume of live performances, Robbin’s signature “Snuggle Bear” voice fits her personality best because of her energy. During her entertainment career, Robbin received her M.A. in education, taught English/Language Arts, and went on to become a motivational speaker for teens. Her desire to give back, serendipitously led her to MCH, who was looking for someone with a vision to take the Le Grand Picnic to the next level. Robbin was a match and, with the help of her architect husband, Jay, the rest is history. She says, there is something magical that happens, whether in a classroom, on stage, or working on a project you believe in. She has long been inspired by the famous quote, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Combining her many talents in entertainment, education, and creativity to thematically transform our hospital’s rose garden each year, we are proud to call her our Le Grand Picnic chair.
The only person who can match Robbin’s enthusiasm is Suzanne Martin Krainock, M.S., BAS, CAI. This will be Suzanne’s fourth year as our Fundraising Auctioneer, and her past efforts have led us to achieve record-breaking fundraising results! As the CEO and Founder of Inspired Benefit Auctions, she has become one of the most sought-after auctioneers nationwide. With extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising, Suzanne previously served as Chief Development Officer for a national nonprofit organization. Her diverse background includes counseling, education, acting, and theater—she even began her entertainment career as a professional clown named Sneakerz! And the best part? She hails from Running Springs!
Suzanne excels at connecting with audiences of all sizes, creating a dynamic atmosphere that truly inspires generosity. As she puts it, “It’s a genuine honor and joy to act as a catalyst for inspiring an avalanche of giving on behalf of Mountains Community Hospital. Witnessing our community come together in support is nothing short of awe-inspiring. This hospital is the heartbeat of our community, and our collective generosity can ensure its lasting impact for generations to come.”
