Our Mountains Community Hospital Radiology Department has on-site Diagnostic X-ray, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, DEXA Scan and CAT scan capabilities.

CT (CAT) Scan
mch_pic_catscanComputed tomography, or CT scan is also know as a CAT (computerized axial tomography) scan. CT scanning allows your physician to see a detailed image of your body or internal organs with a high-resolution 3-D image. The CT scanner is a diagnostic tool that provides a quicker, more accurate diagnosis of many medical conditions that are very difficult to detect with regular X-rays. CT scanning is painless and non-invasive. Most CT scans take 15 to 45 minutes.

The DEX Scan is up-to-date equipment to measure bone mineral density (BMD) and could daignose whether you are in danger of having osteoporosis.

Digital Mammography
Our new digital mammography system removes film variability, eliminates processing, minimizes retakes to reduce radiation exposure and provides a wide dynamic range. Digital technology also allows easy transfer of information to multiple locations.

If you’ve never had a mammogram, or you haven’t had one in over a year, you should make an appointment. No physician referral is necessary and most insurance plans are accepted. The procedure is simple, non-invasive and is performed by one of our certified mammography technologists.

Laboratory Services

mch_pic_labThe Clinical and Pathology Laboratories of Mountains Community Hospital serve those who are hospitalized or are referred as an outpatient by their physician.  The clinical lab is staffed 24 hours a day with state-licensed clinical laboratory scientists under the direction of a pathologist, and works with the Medical Staff and other departments in the diagnosis and treatment of patients through technical analysis of specimens. Our full-service clinical laboratory also offers blood bank and pathology services.

The Joint Commission, State of California, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services accredit the Laboratory under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). The Medical Director is certified in both anatomical and clinical pathology. Technical personnel performing moderate and highly complex testing are licensed by the State of California as clinical laboratory scientists. Personnel drawing blood are certified phlebotomists.
